Twilight: Breaking Dawn Pt. 2

This post contains spoilers about the NEW movie Breaking Dawn. Read at your own risk.

I know how a lot of people feel about the Twilight saga. Many people abhor it. Screaming preteens and drooling mothers love the movies because of the actors in them. While I am one of those that greatly dislikes the movies and books, I felt like this movie, "Breaking Dawn Part 2," was surprisingly well done. Keep in mind that I only believe it was well done for a Twilight movie, though. The graphics weren't terrible, the acting was much better than in the other films, and the twist at the end made me kind of happy.

There were parts of the movie where the graphics just, and there's no better word for it, sucked. When Bella is running through the trees at the beginning of the movie, it looks so fake and ridiculous that I laughed out loud. But other parts were done well. When Kate used her shocky-powers on people, it didn't look completely stupid, and the werewolves looked... like they did in the other two movies, so at least there wasn't a break from tradition.. And the ending twist almost looked like it was supposed to look

Now, let's talk about the acting. I know people think Kristen Stewart, or K-Stew, is a terrible, horrible, awful actress. Well, you would actually (and I'm surprised I'm saying this) be kind of wrong. In this movie, she actually conveyed emotion. There was a scene where she was yelling at someone. It sounded awkward, though. I can't imagine she yells much in real life. But the other actors, mostly the new ones, were just fantastic. Lee Pace as Garrett was just about my favorite thing about the whole movies. He just sounded so real. And I also enjoyed Rami Malek as Benjamin, but mostly just because I thought he was attractive.

Finally, the twist at the end got me really excited. I read the books, and when there was no fight scene, I just about cried. It made me so mad. I had read all of these books, gone through the trials and tribulations of each character's life, and there was no epic battle between good and evil at the end. It was just them standing in a field talking while Bella thrust her magic protection bubble around everyone she loved. It. Pissed. Me. Off. When there was a battle in the movie, it literally had me on the edge of my seat (even though it had been spoiled for me and I knew what was going to happen). I'm glad it wasn't real, though, because I love Jasper (Jackson Rathbone) too much.

So even if it was a Twilight movie, I'm going to give it 6/10. It entertained me, made me laugh, made me angry, and made me cry a little bit when Jasper died. But it still wasn't the greatest movie ever. And I don't know how many of you will enjoy it, probably very few. That's all right, though, because I didn't think I would and I did. It's all a matter of tastes.
