Scribblenauts is a game about a kid named Maxwell finding these things called "starites" that spring from the happiness of others. He has to obtain these because an old man put a curse on his sister, Lily, and she is slowly turning into stone. The curse was placed on her because one day, while they were seeking their fortunes (or something like that) they ran across the old man and he was hungry. Maxwell, who has a magic notebook that can create anything if you write the word in it, gave him a rotten apple, making the old man very angry. Instead of placing the curse on Maxwell, he put it on Lily. Now, Maxwell has to help all 40 of his brothers and various other people in order to lift the curse.
The game play and animation are both relatively simple. Here's a picture of the animation:

You play as Maxwell to begin with, but as you help more of his brothers and, eventually, his sister, you can play as all of them. (My favorite is Rex, the dinosaur hunter.) You get to draw things with his magic notebook. For example, you could write "shovel" and a shovel would appear. And if you spell something wrong, it will give you suggestions for words that it could be. Some items need to be placed strategically, while others can just be given to people. You can also add adjectives to things. You just click on the object and type any adjective, like "pink," and it will turn pink or whatever you typed.
My mom said it looked like a baby game, but it isn't. Some of the things require a bit of higher level thinking, and above all, imagination. Anyone can play it and anyone can enjoy it. I give this game 10/10!
