Table Buddies

This is highschool, where you're here to work hard and study often. Very rarely does one find time for friends amidst the mountains of homework and essays due the next day (or maybe that's just me). However, I've found that friends don't just have to be an outside of school thing, and that if you just talk to people, you'll find new friends everywhere.

I was recently acquainted with three people in my AP Lang and Comp class. They are the people that I will hopefully sit by all year, if not all trimester. At first, we just knew each other, we didn't really talk much, and it was a little bit awkward. As time progressed, however, we all became super good friends and talk everyday. While this type of interaction isn't new to me, the intensity of it is. These three people are amazing and they make me smile everyday. If I was in a bad mood before, they cheer me up, which is great because AP Lang is my first class and it puts me in a good mood the rest of the day.

I used to think that to have realy good friends, you had to see them all the time outside of class. This is not the case, though. Who says a good friend is defined by the amount of time you see them? It is not that which defines it, but the level of your friendship, the way you make each other feel good, and the joy you bring into each others' lives.

I realize this post is really sappy, but we're all reasonable people here. Meeting new people is hard to do, but becoming friends with them like this is amazing. In addition, we're all really hilarious so our table's always laughing the hardest and talking the loudest. We have fun together, and that's what matters.
